Best Father’s Day Dessert Ideas
When I was combing through our dessert archives choosing our 10 best Father’s Day dessert ideas – I started wondering… what exactly makes a dessert good for Father’s Day?
Three things seem to fit the criteria best:
a) Anything with chocolate or peanut butter in abundance (preferably both!)
b) Anything nostalgic – if it’s like mom or grandma used to make, it’s probably going to tug on his heart strings
c) Anything that’s crazy-fattening
These Peanut Butter No-Bake cookies are one of our top-pinned recipes – and just perfect for the peanut butter lovin’ dad. You won’t even have to heat up the kitchen to make these!
If dad has a sweet tooth, this will definitely not disappoint! The combination of chocolate, nuts, marshmallows and butter equal heaven on a plate 🙂
Speaking of chocolate…. this double chocolate cake will NOT disappoint in the chocolate department! Kasey made this cake for me before and oh-my-lanta was it awesome!
Some dads just are not fans of chocolate. I know – total crazy talk – but it’s true. Satisfy a sweet tooth that leans toward something more refreshing and creamy with this Lemon Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting! The kids can help line up the little white chocolate chips around the edges or sprinkle with lemon zest instead.
You don’t have to be from Kentucky to appreciate a pecan pie that invited chocolate chips to the party. SO GOOD – but so EASY.
And a close cousin to Derby Pie recipe is Kasey’s mom’s German Chocolate Pecan Pie recipe! It includes coconut, which is not my favorite but some dads love 🙂
Speaking of pies – this Buttermilk Pie recipe is going to knock dad’s socks off. It’s straight out of Kasey’s mom’s recipe book and bound to satisfy a southern sweet tooth 😉
Speaking of nostalgic recipes, this cake is full of nuts and memories – this one is the MOST requested recipe at Southern Living for a reason. We all want to travel back in time and taste those desserts our grandparents made again 🙂
This one is so simple and so yummy. So yummy that everyone had half-finished theirs before I could whip my camera out for a pretty picture. You’ll have to use your imagination on this one. If you can stuff store-bought cookie dough into a cake pan and spread soft ice cream on it – you can do this!
We used heart-shaped pb cups for these Valentine’s Day desserts but you can just sub out normal peanut butter cups for Father’s Day
If dad is more of a cake guy – a theme cake is always fun for Father’s Day. This fish cake would be cute for the angler dad! For that matter, the Nascar dad might like a Racecar Cake – although it’s more fun for the kids to make probably 😉
