Kaya Mattress Review

A couple of weeks ago, KAYA contacted me about posting a review of their newly releasing premium hybrid mattress. Since it is time to move my 3-year-old from her crib to a regular bed, I was happy to comply. Currently, our 3-year-old shares a room with our 14-year-old and the baby is still in our room. Thankfully, the bedroom is a really nice size and can accommodate all three girls. Desperately ready to have our bedroom back to ourselves, we are so excited to move the baby from the pack in play in our room to the crib in the girls’ bedroom. It seems like we’ve had a baby in our room continuously for almost three years now. We are hoping that once we move the baby to the crib, she will sleep better too.

We already have a beautiful Pottery Barn bed that was given to us at that my in-laws have been storing that matches our older daughter’s bed. They are going to bring that down to us soon from Ohio. Since our 3 year old sleeps so crazy, we thought that starting her out with the mattress on the floor was the best option for her to make the transition smooth. She sleeps all over the place, and we don’t want her falling out and becoming afraid of her big girl bed. We were really excited to review the KAYA hybrid mattress as it is made in the USA with premium materials while still being affordable. I have included the unboxing of the mattress below along with my review a little further down in this post. First, I wanted to point out a couple of things that stood out to me regarding the workmanship of the KAYA mattress.

I especially appreciate that the KAYA Mattress is made out of 5 different layers that work together. KAYA uses 5lbs PCF dense foam, which sets them apart from others. The foams KAYA uses are high-density foams which makes this mattress much more durable than other mattresses meaning it will last longer. For example, their first layer is a 5 PCF layer which is something you rarely see in any mattress.

My favorite layer is the ThermoGel cooling layer as I do not like to get hot when I sleep.

  1. Quality cover with a seamless ThermoGel infused in the fabric
  2. Responsive HD Foam – The foams we’re using are high density foams which makes this mattress much more durable than other mattresses meaning it will last longer. For example, our first layer is a 5 PCF layer which is something you rarely see in any mattress.
  3. Memory Foam
  4. Transition Foam
  5. Pocketed Coil Base with a stabilizing foam layer

If you are concerned about health and environmental issues, you will be pleased to know that KAYA mattress has been certified by the not-for-profit organization CertiPUR-US®.

Certified CertiPUR-US® foams are:

  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

KAYA mattress offers a 120-day trial. They ask that you try the mattress for 30 days so that your body has time to adjust. If it still doesn’t work for you, you can get a full refund with no questions asked for 120 days. After that, there is 20-year warranty.

Here is my video review of the KAYA mattress. I included the unboxing, then came back a few days later to tell you what we thought. If you’d like more info about a KAYA mattress, check out their website here.
