Ketogenic Meal Plan: Week One

ketogenic week 1 meal plan

Since I’ve had so many ask what our meal plan looks like, I thought I’d post and give you a glimpse into our keto way of life. I’ll start by saying that I am pretty lazy keto. I don’t track macros with an app. Instead, I keep up with my carbs in my head with a goal of staying between 20-30 net carbs since I’m still nursing. Personally, part of my goal is food freedom. I don’t want to stress about every little thing I put in my mouth. I love that I don’t get hungry as often and that I just don’t think about food as much. Even with my lazy approach to keto I’ve still lost 21 lbs and am just a few lbs away from my goal weight. All of that to say, each to their own. You’ll find no keto police here.

keto grocery haul
Although I usually order groceries online and pick them up on Sunday afternoon, we’ve got a hectic day tomorrow, so I ran to ALDI this afternoon. It’s our last week of regular fall ball (hallelujah I’m ready to be home in the evenings). Between our two big kids, we’ve got several games this week. I knew if I didn’t make a plan, it would be easy to cheat, and I’m not down for that.

washing veggies in sink
I’ve learned that if I wash my produce at the beginning of the week, it makes meal time much easier. I fill my sink up with water and add vinegar. I don’t measure, but I would say I add at least 1/2 cup of vinegar. Then, I let it soak for a few minutes before rinsing and allowing to air dry on a towel. Once they are dry, I go ahead and prep my veggies (trimmed the brussels sprouts, chopped the green pepper)and place in the fridge in zip lock bags. That way when it’s time to use them the prep work is done.

keto sausage ball puffs

I made 3lbs of bacon this morning to snack on this week along with Sausage Ball Puffs. For my lunches this week I will either eat leftovers or make Broccoli Cheese Soup and/or Egg Roll in a Bowl.

Saturday – Grilled Hamburgers (no bun) with Loaded Broccoli
Sunday – We will be gone from very early in the morning until late at night, so we will figure out meals as we go.
Monday – Taco Salads

Tuesday – Sliced Black Forest Ham with fried cabbage

Wednesday – Zaxby’s on the way to church (I order a salad without the fried onions)

ThursdayLazy Chicken Parmesan with green beans & a garden salad

FridayParmesan Crusted Pan-Fried Pork Chops with Brussel Sprouts

*sweet treat – Peanut Butter Fluff (you can sub any kind of nut butter if you don’t do peanut butter)

This is a very loose plan as I may switch up the meals/days. Also, if something comes up I give myself grace, and my hubby either picks something up for dinner on his way home from work, or we go out to eat.

  1. Hi Kasey! I found your blog when on the Advocare cleanse. Do you still follow any of that program as well? Keto looks interesting too. Just trying to figure out what works for me right now.
