I have an Amazon Prime account and I really get my $99/year out of it. For me, it’s worth the price when I consider all the free shipping we get, the shows we watch via Prime Video (we cut out cable years ago), the Kindle freebies every month, and the extra savings on tons of products that are ONLY available to Prime members. My kids shop Amazon to spend their weekly allowance. It’s just something we use all. the. time.
However – I completely understand why someone wouldn’t bite the bullet for Prime – that $99 annual fee is a big chunk to drop all at once. Especially when you’re not certain how you’ll feel about it a month or so in…
Good news – Amazon just took care of that!
Prime members now have the option to join on a month by month basis – and quit anytime. The monthly fee is $10.99. I could see how this would be particularly awesome when shopping for Christmas – join in November and quit in January!
Here’s what Amazon has to say:
The membership fee for Amazon Prime is $99 per year or $10.99 per month. The first 30 days of the annual subscription are free, and you can cancel anytime. Students can get a price break, however. An Amazon Student account is granted some of the Prime benefits, but it’s free for the first six months.
