I am loving Project Simplify, and I hope you are too. Not only is it helping me be purposeful in cleaning, organizing, and decluttering my home, it kicking my behind in gear to finish a project each day. Being intentional is such a key in reaching long-term goals. If you missed the first post in this series, click here to catch up. I hope you will join me as we choose one project per day, no matter how small. Since I started in my kitchen last week, I’m going to stay here until I complete the entire room.
Before/After: Kitchen Drawers
I am ready to move on from my kitchen, so this morning while the kids were finishing up their breakfast, I emptied several drawers and dumped everything that needed washing in the dishwasher. I don’t know how cabinet organizers can get so dirty, but over time they do.
I washed all the knives again and took out kitchen gadgets that didn’t belong in the knife drawer.
This drawer wasn’t bad, to begin with, but the drawer needed to be vacuumed and wiped out.
I don’t even know how I took such different angled pics of this drawer. I am totally resisting the urge to retake the pictures because I have way too much stuff to do. Now, I’ve got just a couple of drawers left, and all of my kitchen cabinets and drawers will be cleaned out, organized and decluttered.
Some of you may have noticed that I don’t use contact paper in all my cabinets. I put it down when I first moved, but that stuff drives me crazy. If it’s not enough that you have to cut it out to the right size, but the contact paper has to lay down perfectly too. I just can’t deal with all that extra work, so I removed it from all the drawers/cabinets where it drove me nuts. My mom would die because any good southern girl lines her kitchen cabinets, but this is one area that I’m choosing to rebel. 🙂
