I am loving Project Simplify, and I hope you are too. Not only is it helping me be purposeful in cleaning, organizing, and decluttering my home, it kicking my behind in gear to finish a project each day. Being intentional is such a key in reaching long-term goals. If you missed the first post in this series, click here to catch up. I hope you will join me as we choose one project per day, no matter how small.
Before: Hall Closet
The hall closet is under our stairs in the main area of our home. It’s one of those storage spaces that has become the catch-all for so many things. In addition to coats, it also includes medicine, luggage, hats, gloves, scarves, etc..
After: Hall Closet
This was a much bigger project than I expected. I was so appreciative of my hubby, who helped me. First, we took every single thing out of the closet and swept it and mopped the floor. Then, we went through all the coats and determined only to keep a few. I am not great with small details, so my hubby took out all of the containers of medicine and went through them to discard anything that had expired (which was a lot) or medicine we no longer needed. We took several suitcases to our yard sale pile in the garage, then went through all of the gloves, hats, and scarves since the big kids had outgrown a ton of things in that bin, and we discarded gloves that no longer had matches. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but we got rid of at least half of the stuff that used to be in that closet.
I hope you join me as we choose peace of mind one project at a time!
