Recently, I was contacted by ALDI about hosting a summer cookout. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to invite all the girls that help out on the blog and their family’s over for a cookout. Between trying to coordinate my schedule and everyone else’s along with the over abundance of rain I ended up having to pick a date on short notice. As in, I invited everyone on Monday and the party was on Thursday. Not much time to prepare since I was gone all day Monday and Tuesday. In fact, I didn’t even make it to ALDI until Wednesday night. So, I decided to keep everything super simple. I told everyone just to show up, I would take care of everything if they would just bring drinks for their family.
ALDI’s Summer Savings has fabulous deals on everything we needed for a backyard hamburger and hot dog bar. We were able to purchase everything we needed for the cookout in one stop. My kids were most excited about our chips smorgasbord since I don’t usually buy them anymore. My favorite fixin’ was pickles! This was my first time purchasing pickles at ALDI. The hamburger chips were much larger than any brand I have bought previously and they were super tasty. My experience in the store was great. My kids went with me and we divided and conquered. They loved being able to help out. We were able to get in and out quickly since ALDI stores are generally smaller than regular grocery stores. Honestly, it was nice not having 20 different brands and sizes to pick from.

Did you know that ALDI offers a 100% meat guarantee? If you’re ever not 100% satisfied with any meat product you buy, just return it. They will replace the item and give you your money back!
We haven’t had regular chips in our house for a looong time! Although I’ve grown to enjoy baked organic chips I have to admit that these were yummy!!
Can you tell that desserts are my weakness? I was just waiting for an excuse to bake.
I spruced up a regular ALDI chocolate cake mix for my Double Chocolate Cake. It turned out heavenly!! Although it looks fancy, it was so simple to make. You can find the recipe here.
The kids were much easier to photograph than the adults. Including my family of four, we had a total of 19 people ( 11 of those being children). Unfortunately two other girls who help me weren’t able to make it. Nevertheless I was so excited to serve these precious families. It was so much fun to just sit back and relax and chat while our children played together in the backyard.
If you haven’t shopped at ALDI, I suggest you give it a try. You will find great quality products and low prices. Plus you can save money without having to worry about coupons.
