Christmas Tree Lofthouse Cookies

Servings: 36 cookies
Author: Kasey Trenum

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt then set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine the butter, sugar, egg, sour cream and vanilla. Slowly fold in the flour and baking powder mixture.
  • Scoop the cookie dough into 2" balls and place about 2" apart on a large baking sheet. Use a flat bottom glass to gently press (flatten) each dough ball to about 1/4".
  • Bake 6-8 minutes.
  • Add a few drops of green gel food coloring to the white frosting and combine.
  • Scoop the green frosting into the small sandwich baggie and seal shut. Snip 1 corner of the baggie with the kitchen scissors.
  • Gently squeeze the green frosting out of the baggie to form a Christmas tree. Go back and forth making each row shorter until you reach the top.
  • Next, scoop some of the chocolate frosting into the other sandwich baggie and snip 1 corner.
  • Gently squeeze the chocolate frosting out of the bag to form the 'base' of the Christmas tree.
  • Sprinkle the multi-colored sprinkles on for lights and add a star on the top of the tree (optional).
  • *Makes approximately 36 cookies
