Hey, I’m Kasey Trenum, the founder of kaseytrenum.com. I love to write, create recipes for my blogs, share DIY projects, teach people about saving money, and talk about all things family. Here on this site, I share my recipes that are easy, delicious, healthy, and low-carb that the entire family will enjoy.

About Kasey

I’m a Southern girl who’s been married to my college sweetheart, Gary, for over 26 years. We’re proud parents of four amazing kids and a homeschooling family, which means our days are full of learning, laughter, and a healthy dose of chaos. From college to elementary school, our kids keep us busy and bring joy and love to our home.

Family and Life

Since I was a little girl, cooking has always been my passion, especially when I would watch my mom and grandmothers in the kitchen. Nowadays, in my free time, you’ll often find me in the kitchen whipping up something special for my family, cooking alongside one of the kids, or just hanging out with my loved ones around the kitchen island. I also enjoy mentoring young women, getting lost in a good book, bargain hunting at thrift stores, laughing about anything, or imagining where our next travel adventure will take us. Balancing family life, work, and personal passions can be challenging, but I love it! When I’m not being a wife and mom, I love to create content that inspires and helps others.

The Early Years

I started blogging in 2009, teaching people how to save money, coupon, and give generously. I had the opportunity to teach money-saving workshops across the Southeast and even wrote a book published by Revell. Frugal by nature, I still love saving money; however, as our family grew, my priorities shifted, and the focus of the blog shifted.

Low-Carb Life

After having my third and fourth babies in my 40s, I started following a keto diet to lose the baby weight. I’m a picky eater, so I struggled to find keto and low-carb recipes that tasted as good as the comfort foods I grew up with. As both my husband and daughter have type 1 diabetes, I was already familiar with eating low-carb food. We have been counting carbs for over 26 years. In 2017, I decided to focus on creating easy, delicious, healthy, and family-friendly keto and low-carb recipes by combining my love of cooking and experience with counting carbs. Within a few months, my recipes gained popularity on social media and have since been shared millions of times and viewed in 26 countries around the world.

Features

I have been blessed to be featured on NPR (National Public Radio), HLN (Headline News), nationwide NBC affiliates, local CBS affiliates, Scripps Howard News Service, Parade Magazine, All You Magazine, Guidepost, numerous local radio, newspaper and television stations, and a women’s conference/expo speaker.
