I am sure you’ve heard of My Coke Rewards. If you haven’t been updated on the situation, it’s important to note that the whole program has been revamped. On June 30th, 2017, My Coke Rewards bid farewell, and Coke moved onto bigger and better things. Coke ended up donating all of the unused MyCokeRewards points to charity. I wanted to share what is happening now with the new program and how you can take advantage of what Coke offers now.

Does My Coke Rewards Still Exist?

The answer is no. My Coke Rewards does not still exist. It was phased out in 2017, and a new program was introduced in its place.

If you’re looking for to use My Coke Rewards, you won’t be able to because it’s been retired.

If you do a quick search, you will still be able to find out information about it, but the product codes no longer work, and Coca Cola brands have moved to a new program.

When Did My Coke Rewards Phase Out?

June 30th, 2017 was the last day in which Cola brands and partners had anything to do with My Coke Rewards. Any points that were left over were donated to charity. Your chances to win were decreased, and you could no longer enter codes. The Cokes Rewards Program was ready for something different, and that is just what they did!

Can I Still Enter my Codes?

There were two different sides with the former My Coke Rewards. There were codes and points. When My Coke Rewards phased out, so did all of your points.

However, you can still enter the product codes in the new program. The Coca Cola Company Account decided to donate the unused points to charity.

If I had points with My Coke Rewards Where Did They Go?

As mentioned before, the previous Coke Rewards App was retired, and if you had any points to use up and didn’t use them, they are gone.

Coke donated all unused points to Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Junior Achievement® for charity.

Do I Need to Create a New Account for the new Coke Rewards Online?

You have probably discovered that an existing account on MCR.com no longer works since the website redirects you to Coke.com to take advantage of the new program by Coca Cola. According to Coca Cola, your MCR username and password is valid on the new rewards program

As you buy new Coca Cola products, you’ll be able to scan your new codes and get new rewards and other fun stuff!

The cool thing about the new Coke Rewards App, Sip & Scan,  is that you have the option of donating your rewards to your school of choice. Any primary or secondary accredited public or private school in the U.S. is eligible to participate.

Do the new My Coke Rewards Expire?

As of now, there is no talk of Sip & Scan Rewards expiring. However, if there is anything I’ve learned is that most reward programs don’t last forever as they often change to stay relevant.

Is It Worth It?

That is really an individual question. Some may think it is worth the time and love the rewards or being able to contribute to their school, while others may feel it is tedious, and a waste of time. I say give it a try and you’ll figure out pretty quickly where you stand.

  1. I started saving coke points for about 4 years now. At first I was also giving my points away and I figured why not save myself. Everyone year at Christmas I have saved enough points to buy my daughter a new pair of Nike shoes. So heck yea it’s well worth the time and effort to log in points

    1. I thought that they didn’t have the program ànymore.I saved boxes for èver.I now throw mine away .

    2. I have a whole plastic bag of caps from Coke-Cola Bottles. Do I have to get rid of every single one of these and what year do I look for to keep track for the new codes

  2. Thanks for sharing! We use mycokerewards regularly! I started out just for the product coupons but last week my family went to Carowinds with my points and we still have enough to take my family of 5 and my parents to the world of Coca Cola in a few weeks! My dad even collects them for me at work!

  3. Don’t believe it. The ‘rewards’ are basically junk, even at the high point levels. For example, a low end wireless earphone set ‘reward’ retails online for about $10.00 but costs around 1300 points. That’s about 7 cents a point, just not worth the time and effort to collect the points. If you want a cheap wireless headphone, pay the ten bucks, you’ll at least not feel cheated when you realize how cheesy it really is. The T-shirts, caps, and Coke product knick-knacks are basically advertising items that haven’t been given away during promotional events so they end up on the Coke Rewards site and cost you points. No value for the time invested.

    1. Wow – that doesn’t sound terribly worth it, you’re right. Thanks for the input! I guess if you were using it mainly to get freebie coupons though, it might be worth holding onto the codes.

    2. If those cokes were gifted, it was free. But to explain in smaller words for you- the points cost too much to gather (that means collect) for the so called ‘prizes’ offered.

  4. Andy above is right – one of the least valuable programs I’ve seen. First, remove the Coke products like museum tickets and shirts out of the equation. That costs the company very little in comparison to anothing from another company. Also, let’s face it – it’s a brand play so wearing their gear and going to their museum benefits them so it’s of even lover value to the consumer. Take what’s left over and the time-money conversion is horrible. You’re better off searching for deals from the resellers. Just looked up 2 12-packs at Walgreens on sale for $9 (good for NYC.) Took 2 minutes to pull up and better use of the time than pulling out and submitting the necessary number of codes to at least equal that value. M2C.

    1. Jairo – thanks for the input! I do think that they’re valuable on occasion when coupons are offered for FREE 12-Packs, etc… But I would agree about the Coke branded clothing items 🙂

  5. I would like to point out how you can now only put in 70 points per week. That means that 550 point shirt which advertises Coca-Cola for them now takes 8 weeks at minimum to earn. If you want those tickets to an amusement park or a 20$ gift card expect to be in it for the long haul as it’ll take you a half year or longer to earn. Now that does make sense, however the new limit essentially just keeps people from getting points from friends and family. There’s also now a tiered system. Everyone starts out at bronze and the more you advertise for coke on your facebook or twitter account the more rank you get. The 3 tiers each have different prizes in them which means if you aren’t willing to advertise for them you very well might not get those better prizes.

I’m a gold member and I believe it took me about 2 months of tweeting ‘coca cola this coca cola that’ to finally make it to gold status.

  6. The program has been revamped, and every cap code can be entered for .05 cents to a school donation. The money is directly donated to the school, depoited or via check, and they even include the next deposit date so you can plan when to have points in by. I havea lot of coworkers who drinks cokes, and am spreading the word about Dasani, and other Coke owned products that also have codes. I am going to make wrapped cans with images of the items that offer codes to remind them!

    1. 0.5 cents? That’s half a cent. Did you mean 5 cents? That can also be written as $0.05, but not “0.5 cents.”

    2. Yes’, I know decimal points and how they work. It takes 200 to equal $1. Work that out for me and tell me what you come up with.

    3. 0.5 cents is same as .50 cents = 50 cents. 0.05 is 5 cents.
The cap codes donation to schools is 0.005 cents = 1/2 of 0.01 cent or 1/2 of 1 cent.
So, like Milissa said each code is worth 1/2 of 1 cent. 200 codes = $1.00.

  7. I have been saving coke lids for about 5years.I didn’t know you phased it out in 2017. Never knew haven’t checked my old email address . Cant enter the eight digit number ,So what do I do with all these lids.LOTS of lids.

    1. I’ve seen people sell them on eBay by the bag / box full. And I seem to recall a few bags of about 1500 or so caps went for $150, or something like that. Check it out.

    2. HOW DO WE FIND SCHOOL OR CHURCH IN OUR AREA TO DONATE CAPS TO? I’M IN BIRMINGHAM AL.

    3. I used to save all codes {caps & boxes) & to this day have a ton but with this new program, I’m going to pitch them all…so not worth it but donating all plastic caps for programs that make benches & trash receptacles.

  8. My Coke Rewards was an amazing loyalty program. I have earned binocular cameras, bicycles, and a host of other great gifts. Now, you get a code with a “chance” to “win” some spectacular prize. Yeah, right. So in short, you have wasted your time for a maybe someday contest. Totally not worth it. It’s a pity. I have 15 vending machines that used to be stocked exclusively with coca cola products. Not anymore, it’s not worth it. Whoever came up with this brilliant plan was probably the brain trust behind New Coke.

  9. I would agree, this program is not the same. I use to get so many gift cards to restaurants and different retail stores. Now, that has changed which is a total waist. I do donate for the schools. I hate the new program and you really aren’t benefiting like the previous program.

    1. I have played this reward program, but I would be very leery of some rewards. Careful with the very fine print. I won 2 Shutterfly calendars. and went to field to fill out. Now granted I’m kinda old, and when you tell me free, well that’s what I expect. The program does say there are times that you have to pay for some things like shipping etc, etc,. But that should be posted way up front before you go through procedure of uploading any info or making any selections for said reward. With that being said, my faith in Coke and Shutterfly has been well disrupted. I and my daughter helps me get Coke products to put in rewards for donation. Even the Coke gets big tax credit on such donations. Hum

  10. I don’t have a smart phone nor a camera on my computer. So I can forget the new rewards. I guess Coke forgot about us.

    1. Same here, no smartphone or way to get in on any of the sweepstakes with sip & scan. Only thing I can do is donate by entering codes.

  11. It wouldn’t matter if you did. The new “rewards” are chances to win contests, and downloads for songs, etc. It’s all crap now. I switched out the coke from my vending machines when it wasn’t even worthwhile to donate the points to the local school.

  12. Thank you so much to all of you for these updated answers and opinions. Another couponing craze unintended consequence. Sadly, has done more harm to so many, while shifting profits to corporate. “Donating” to Boys and Girls and to your local school, is a manipulative PR move. They receive a write off, instead of healthier products, green packaging, and greater quality. That’s YOUR money! Does your city, home, or retail taxes go down to offset what you give? Companies should be forced to give back to every consumer, especially those with adverse health benefits. Notice, it wasn’t to a food bank or soup kitchen.

  13. Loved the old coke rewards program. Now there are no rewards, only points donations and sweepstakes entries which never end with a win. I used to love being able to get passes to world of coke and an occasional amazon gift card with my bottle caps. To the trash from now on. Way to reward your loyal customers coke :(.
