I am sure you’ve heard of My Coke Rewards. If you haven’t been updated on the situation, it’s important to note that the whole program has been revamped. On June 30th, 2017, My Coke Rewards bid farewell, and Coke moved onto bigger and better things. Coke ended up donating all of the unused MyCokeRewards points to charity. I wanted to share what is happening now with the new program and how you can take advantage of what Coke offers now.

Does My Coke Rewards Still Exist?

The answer is no. My Coke Rewards does not still exist. It was phased out in 2017, and a new program was introduced in its place.

If you’re looking for to use My Coke Rewards, you won’t be able to because it’s been retired.

If you do a quick search, you will still be able to find out information about it, but the product codes no longer work, and Coca Cola brands have moved to a new program.

When Did My Coke Rewards Phase Out?

June 30th, 2017 was the last day in which Cola brands and partners had anything to do with My Coke Rewards. Any points that were left over were donated to charity. Your chances to win were decreased, and you could no longer enter codes. The Cokes Rewards Program was ready for something different, and that is just what they did!

Can I Still Enter my Codes?

There were two different sides with the former My Coke Rewards. There were codes and points. When My Coke Rewards phased out, so did all of your points.

However, you can still enter the product codes in the new program. The Coca Cola Company Account decided to donate the unused points to charity.

If I had points with My Coke Rewards Where Did They Go?

As mentioned before, the previous Coke Rewards App was retired, and if you had any points to use up and didn’t use them, they are gone.

Coke donated all unused points to Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Junior Achievement® for charity.

Do I Need to Create a New Account for the new Coke Rewards Online?

You have probably discovered that an existing account on MCR.com no longer works since the website redirects you to Coke.com to take advantage of the new program by Coca Cola. According to Coca Cola, your MCR username and password is valid on the new rewards program

As you buy new Coca Cola products, you’ll be able to scan your new codes and get new rewards and other fun stuff!

You can even donate to their cause partners, which includes programs like the American Red Cross and the Special Olympics. You can view all this information here. Make sure you check out the Coke Rewards for School and the Coke Rewards for AMC.

The cool thing about the new Coke Rewards App, Sip & Scan,  is that you have the option of donating your rewards to your school of choice. Any primary or secondary accredited public or private school in the U.S. is eligible to participate.

Do the new My Coke Rewards Expire?

As of now, there is no talk of Sip & Scan Rewards expiring. However, if there is anything I’ve learned is that most reward programs don’t last forever as they often change to stay relevant.

Is It Worth It?

That is really an individual question. Some may think it is worth the time and love the rewards or being able to contribute to their school, while others may feel it is tedious, and a waste of time. I say give it a try and you’ll figure out pretty quickly where you stand.

  1. There are still occasionally good items to enter your codes for – free large drink, free large popcorn, free movie ticket at AMC – free 20oz soda at 7-11 – shutterfly photo products – and sometimes free magazines.

Lately, only donations and sweepstakes, but those codes are still worth saving.

  2. I think they should bring back the points for items. Limited to coke products. Like shirts bottles, etc. People today do not have the money to purchase these items. It was great when I could save the points for gifts like this for Christmas. Now I cant. When you do the sweepstakes your pitted against thousands of other people also entering. The probability of you winning is NOT good. SO you sit there for an hour or more entering points everyday and never get anything. I had opver 10K points saved and they were giving away without my consent to maybe a charity I dont invest in years ago. I think they should revamp the system to include saving points again to coke items only. Hence this will increase there sales of coke bought as well in the long run. People just dont have the money anymore. With the Covid virus and Emerg Govt shutdown etc.

  3. I keep checking to see if maybe… just maybe there will be a tangible, usable reward listed. We don’t have AMC where we live.) It is now worthless to save caps… only sweepstakes. No real prizes anymore.

  4. Long long coca cola drinker here. In my opinion the “New” rewards program isn’t worth the time it takes to enter the codes. Very disappointing. Bring back the actual rewards program.

  5. The old. Program was great we saved enough points every year to go to kings island for free this new program is a waste of time all it is either donating or sweepstakes you get nothing out of it. I won a couple free popcorns at a movie theater but we don’t have any amc theaters around really disappointed in them saying the new improved program. I have a bunch of codes that I might as well just throw away I’ve now switched back to Pepsi products .

  6. I agree, through points, I received a great set of mixing bowls, hotel stays, gift cards, etc. Nothing worthwhile now, so I threw out all my saved up caps. For years, I wanted to give up my addiction to diet coke (deep down we all know it’s not really good for us) but I kept rationalizing that I was getting something for my caps. Finally, Coke gave me the release I needed to stop drinking its products and drink healthier options. If they had kept the program, I’d still be buying three twelve packs a week.

  7. well had old account u r not the only company who changed the way this is done makes it hard for older people trying to earn rewards for presents for family members to stretch our budgets

    1. Yes, Coke made lots of changes to their program. It used to be much better, in my opinion. This post was just for information as I am not affiliated in any way with coke or the coke rewards program.

  8. I totally agree! I LOVED the old way of saving and getting promotional items. My mom is the BIGGEST Coca-Cola lover I have ever known. Even her kitchen is Coke themed. I used to be able to surprise her with little gifts from the codes. But now it is totally worthless. It doesn’t make sense, Coca-Cola is a muti-billion dollar company. They can’t afford to give out little free stuff for saving points? I mean it’s really money in their pockets too.

  9. These changes are right up there with their super flop recipe change idea. Stay out of politics Coke and get back to providing a little bit of fun to your loyal customers.

  10. When I try to scan the code on a sprite bottle it says”We don’t recognize that code. Make sure you are scanning a Freestyle QR code.” What does that mean?

  11. Worthless to save codes now. Can’t even find where you can enter the code for rewards. It only offers ways for donating. Waste of time since they changed the program.

  12. Why do you still put codes under the Coca-Cola caps if you can not redeem them?I been collected the codes under the caps for a while and I want to know what to do with them?

    1. Agreed. I have thousands of them in bags. As of today I am no longer buying coke products until they allows us to use these. They run this program to help buy our loyalty. We provided our loyalty and now they have totally turned their back on us and scammed us.

  13. I must say , my parents were faithful to your company in the 60.s thru the 2003 year ! I have 152 – from the Dasani water not used . I guess your company must feel they used the – ” Loyal Customers ” enough for their gain !!!!! What a shame & fraud to become a greedy company !!!!!!!!!!!

    1. This is was an informative article. I am not in any way affiliated with coke or any of its companies. If you’d like for your comment to be heard by coke you may want to go to their website to voice your concerns as they are important.

    2. Coke ,LIKE ALLLLL OTHER COMPANIES HAVE ONLY BECOME A BORING SCAM! YOUR REPS. ARE POINTLESS AND SEEM TO KNOW NOTHING! I WILL BE CHANGING TO PEPSI ,AS COKE IS PLAYED OUT AND DESPISE ,” GREED “! ISN’T THAT WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT???? SAD SAD!

  14. I loved Coca-Cola but you are selluots. You sold out to China. And we’re making your white works say sorry for beening born white that reverse racism. And I will not buy anymore Coca-Cola.Your company has forgotten it the American people that made your company great and made last this long.

    1. This is an informational post only. I am not in any way affiliated with the coca-cola company.
