HOW TO MAKE THIS HAM AND CHEESE CASSEROLE

Sometimes I make Hot Ham & Cheese Rollups, and now I have a new option. Even though the pictures do not do it justice, Hot Ham & Cheese “Unwich” Casserole is delicious. It reminded me so much of my favorite sub without all the bread.

I prepared it in a 9X9 pan, just in case we didn’t love it, but we devoured all but one piece. You can change this up to best suit your tastes by switching up the deli meat, cheese, and toppings. It would also be fabulous served on top of a bed of lettuce. I threw everything together so there won’t be exact measurements or macros, as the nutritional info will depend on what and how much of the ingredients you use.

Tips for this keto ham and cheese casserole

You can easily switch out the types of cheese and meat for this simple keto casserole. Using ham adds a good salt flavor, but you can use turkey as well. Another great option is baked chicken meat, too.

Ingredients:

  • Smoked Deli Ham
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Dill Pickle Chips
  • Italian Dressing
  • Italian Seasoning

Step 1: First, layer the deli ham in the bottom of a 9 X 9 pan.

Step 2: Next, layer swiss cheese on top of the ham.

Step 3: I added dill pickles, a little Italian dressing, and then sprinkled Italian seasoning on top before adding the second layer of ham.

Step 4: Finally, top with another layer of swiss cheese and the rest of the Italian seasoning.

Step 5: Pop the Hot Ham & Cheese “Unwich” Casserole in a 375-degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and all the ingredients are cooked through.

How to make this ham cheese casserole spicy

If you like to add heat to dishes, get in line. That is one of my family’s favorite things to do as well. Make certain that whatever hot sauce you’re using in low in carbs and add as much as you want. 

You can easily change up your cheese too. Pepper jack cheese is a great way to easily add in more heat! 

How to store leftovers of this Cheesy Ham Casserole

If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers of this recipe, store it in the fridge until you’re ready to eat it again. This is a simple way to have another meal or two ready to go with minimal work and effort on your part. 

You’ll want to reheat this recipe before eating it again but trust me on this one…you’ll be so glad you did. You can even add on a tad bit more cheese as well. Because it’s just not possible to have too much cheese, right?!
