One thing I’ve missed since I started following a keto lifestyle is a variety of crunchy snacks. Sure, we can eat pork rinds, but there are times I just want something a little different. As I was thinking about the upcoming holiday season and recipes that I wanted to modify I immediately thought about Party Mix. It’s one of those traditional snacks that is etched in my memory from childhood. I love all the different kinds of foods combined together with spices to create an amazingly delicious crunchy snack. Since many of the components of traditional party mix just aren’t low carb I began to brainstorm how I could create a keto/low carb Party Mix. Finding low carb substitutions for some of our favorite foods has really helped us stick to this lifestyle change. In saying that let me set the appropriate expectation. None of the low carb/keto food substitutions tastes just like the original. Cauliflower will never ever in a million years taste just like pizza dough. That would be impossible. However, recipes like this are fabulous alternatives to their carb filled counterparts.

  1. This looks delicious but I really can’t stand pork rinds. I can’t think of anything else I could substitute???? Cheese crackers and nuts don’t seem like enough. BTW, I LOVE your recipes and have made several!

  2. 1 1/2 T seasoning salt sounds like quite a bit. Is that the correct? Haven’t made this yet. Planning to sub Cheese Wisps for the cheddar.

    1. I was thinking about using Cheese Wisps as well. Have you tried this yet? Curious how it turned out, with Cheese Wisps being so salty.

  3. I haven’t made it yet – thought about using Cheese Wisps or Moon Cheese and mixed nuts also fried onion strings. Will post how it turns out after I make it. I think the seasoned salt s/be 1.5 teaspoons.

  4. So after you coat pork rinds and nuts you cook them for an hour (stirring every 15), but what are you cooking them in and at what temp?

    1. There are step-by-step instructions in the recipe card that will give you all the information you need. Enjoy!

  5. So is it 1 1/2 Tablespoons of seasoning salt or 1 1/2 teaspoons? I made it as the recipe directed with Tablespoons and it tastes REALLY salty. I’m hoping when it cools off it won’t taste as salty.

  6. Hi! I’m allergic to pork, any subs you can think of for the pork rinds? Thin having that contrasting element is important. Thank you

  7. How much is a serving? I know it says 12, but it would help to have an estimate like 1/2 cup or 1/4 cup. If it was a handful I could get a lot in my handfuls. 😂 thanks for the recipes.

Made this last night for my husband and it’s AMAZING!! We literally could not stop eating it. The Worcestershire mixed with the butter is delicious and gives it that perfect chex mex taste without the BS!! Love your recipes.
