90 Second Keto Bread that Actually Tastes GOOD
90 Second Keto Bread is one of those recipes that everyone on the ketogenic diet needs in their life if they miss bread. Quick and easy to make, you’ll love having a low carb bread option at your fingertips. This is seriously the best keto bread recipe.
90 SECOND KETO BREAD
A hamburger bun or slice of bread might be what many of us dream about those first few weeks of eating a keto diet. I think we all start looking for some kind of substitute to satisfy our bread cravings. I know I tried a host of different recipes, which left me feeling disappointed mostly.
Then, I started hearing about 90-Second Keto Bread. If you’ve ever tasted it straight out of the microwave, you may understand why I think it is a lifeless, dull, flimsy eggy bread. I am just not that desperate for bread if I have to eat it like that.
I love tweaking recipes and thought there has to be a solution that would bring this keto bread to life. The key to a delicious 90-second keto bread recipe is browning it in a skillet before serving with a little butter to make it crisp.
WHAT IS 90-SECOND KETO BREAD?
It is simply a single portion of a keto-friendly bread cooked in the microwave for 90 seconds.
HOW MANY CARBS IN 90-SECOND BREAD?
This particular recipe has 1g net carbs per serving. This will vary depending on the serving size.
INGREDIENTS FOR 90-SECOND KETO BREAD:
- Egg (you can also use an egg white if you are particularly sensitive to foods tasting eggy)
- coconut flour
- butter
- sour cream
- baking powder
- cheese
- pinch of salt
After you mix up all the ingredients, it will look a little lumpy like this in the picture above. Now, you simply microwave for 90 seconds.
This is sad, lifeless 90-Second Keto Bread straight out of the microwave. You don’t want to eat it like this as it will taste spongey and eggy. The next steps are the most important in the process of making the best keto bread recipe.
How to reheat and cut your low carb bread
I tend to make my 90-Second Keto bread rather thin in a ramekin instead of a mug. Otherwise, it is just too thick for me. You’ll need a serrated bread knife to cut the bread in half horizontally.
Melt butter in a skillet and sear bread on both sides until it’s crispy. I use an 8″ skillet.
There are so many ways to enjoy this 90 second bread keto recipe.
90-SECOND KETO BREAD WITH BACON AND CHEESE
Crispy thick-cut bacon and a variety of cheeses make this bacon and cheese sandwich simply divine.
KETO FRENCH DIP SANDWICH
Last night I made Keto Pot Roast and remembered a recipe at lunch today where you serve pot roast on bread with melted cheese. As I was making the bread, I decided to change up some of the ingredients in hopes of making it even better. I can say that it was a total success. You do still need to crisp it up in a skillet or toaster oven for sure, but the flavor is so much better with the changes I made.
GRILLED CHEESE KETO SANDWICH
This Grilled Cheese on 90-Second Keto Bread is delicious with two kinds of cheese. There are so many ways to enjoy this amazing low carb bread substitute.

Tried this tonight – was awesome and turned out perfect – definitely a new favorite! Will be making over and over again! Thank you!
Awesome!
I made this for lunch….with ham, Vermont white cheddar, tomato & mayo….can I say YUMMY!!! Thanks for a great quick bread!!
So glad you loved it! That sounds delish.
Thank you Kasey, you’re recipes for the 90 sec bread and the 90 sec French toast are amazing. I saw a lot of people commenting about subbing out the coconut flour for almond flour so I did both variations. I have to say that the almond flour is lighter and more of a bread type texture right out of the oven and then when you toast it it’s over-the-top. I also subbed out my cheddar cheese for Parmesan cheese in your bread recipe. I buttered both sides of the bread and put them in a greased cookie sheet under low broil for three minutes each side and it came out perfectly. They’re like perfect little Crostini bread. That would be perfect with a bruschetta
*Oh I forgot to add it was 3 tablespoons of almond flour
Thanks for the recipe! I was wondering if you knew the ingredient proportions in weight?
I’m sorry I don’t.
I’m so excited! I found this, desperate for something resembling bread, after cooking a huge pork roast into carnitas. I made it with the 3T almond flour, using a small bowl to get the right size/shape, fried it up in butter, and …. *drool* … it tastes better than the biscuits I remember! <3 Thank you!
Perfect! SO glad you enjoyed it.
I made this for breakfast today and forgot to add the cheese, but it still came out great!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
So good! Came out perfect 1st try and I am a keto newbie!
I just made it again! Sausage and Egg McKeto LOL. I am addicted!!!
That sounds great!
Awesome!
Can you tell me how many grams 1 1/4 tablespoons of butter is?
Sorry, I have no idea.
One Tablespoon is 14.2 grams according to google.
OH. MY. Goodness!! I was really skeptical to try this. I am so glad I did!!!
I feel like I am eating cornbread. I have been missing Mexican corn bread. Could I put some bacon crumbles and jalapeños in? I’m guessing I’d need to cook the peppers a little bit.
I was able to make 4 slices. I think it was the shape of my my mug. I at part of it as a sausage and egg sandwich…with my keto homemade mayo, and just ate the other two pieces. I can’t decide how I like it better, on a sandwich or plain.
Yay! That makes me so happy! Feel free to make the recipe your own. I’m sure it would be great with bacon and jalapeños.
Can you cook ?? n toaster oven instead of microwave?
I would think so.
Did you remove the pics? There aren’t any there. 🙁
No, I didn’t. Hmmmm…that is so weird that you can’t see them as they are all still there when I go to the post. I don’t know what to suggest besides clear your cashe perhaps
I had to leave a comment. This is the closest to French toast that I have tasted since going keto. My mother asked for seconds. I used this recipe and added 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Toasted the bread after soaking in egg vanilla cinnamon and swerve mixture. I didn’t add heavy whipping cream. It was very good
So glad you enjoyed it! It is one of our favorites.
I made this bread using 1 1/2 Tbsns of butter and 3 Tbspns of almond flour no sour cream at all. It was great for my sloppy joes!
Yum! I love sloppy joes. I’ll have to try it with them. Thanks for the idea.
I tried a couple of other 90 sec bread recipe options – dry – found yours / cooked for 70 secs at a lower microwave setting – delicious- thanks for sharing. About to make a few batches so I can pop spares into the freezer ?
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed it.
Hi,Sue! J was wondering how they kept in the freezer? I want to make a big batch for when I start back dieting.
Cant wait to try this.
The nutritional info you had posted, is that for the whole recipe?
Yes, this recipe is just one serving.
I slightly modified this recipe to make tortilla/taco shells. I added 1.5 tsp water and made it in a 9inch glass pie dish. A flexible spatula is required to pop it out and to flip, but it makes a great taco shell for both hard and soft tacos.
What a great idea, James!
Thank you!
