Keto and Low Carb Chicken Recipes
If you are following a Ketogenic lifestyle, it is always nice to have new recipe ideas. I love how easy so many Keto recipes are to make for my family. As a busy momma of four, I am always looking for simple ways to get dinner on the table without compromising taste quickly. These four Keto and Low Carb Chicken recipes are all easy skillet meals that your entire family will love. I like to make a big mixed green garden salad to go along with these recipes!
What’s the best pan for skillet meals?
I’ve been cooking in cast iron skillets for years. In fact, I have several of my late grandmothers. They are probably at least 50 years old and still are in incredible condition. As long as you keep your pan clean and seasoned, a cast-iron skillet is a great investment that will become a lifelong staple in your kitchen. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend getting one! They aren’t expensive, and they will last for many years if cared for properly. I have this Lodge 10.25 inch cast iron skillet that I used in all of these recipes.
Is chicken good for the Keto diet?
If you’re a newcomer to Keto, you might not know that having too much protein can actually prevent you from reaching ketosis or kick you out of it. I recommend tracking the amount of protein you have through the day and only making low-carb chicken recipes if they fit into your macros. For example, you may not want to have a protein with every meal. However, that shouldn’t scare you off of meat for good — chicken can definitely be enjoyed throughout the week on keto, as can other proteins like beef and pork!
What kind of chicken works best for Keto chicken recipes?
Whether you’re a fan of chicken breasts or thighs, both options work well in Keto cooking. Chicken breasts are leaner than thighs, meaning they have a lower fat content. If you’re struggling to meet your fat macros, you may want to opt for thighs. Chicken thighs also tend to be cheaper than chicken breasts, which is great if you eat Keto on a budget or feed a large family. Either kind works amazingly in these low-carb chicken recipes.
Low Carb Chicken Recipes
If you have a family that can have carbs, you can easily add a potato dish or pasta to these meals to make them go further. If you are on the keto diet, serving them as is will be your best choice. Remember, keto doesn’t mean a lack of flavor! Once you try these recipes, they’ll become a rotating staple in your meal plans.
1. Chicken and Mushroom Gravy
Chicken & Mushroom Gravy will make you almost feel like you are cheating on Keto. That’s how delicious the gravy is, seriously! This dish is rich, savory, and will satisfy everyone in your family. It tastes fancy but comes together in a snap with budget-friendly ingredients. Pair it with roasted broccoli or another keto-friendly veggie for a complete and easy meal idea. It can also be paired with our grilled bacon-wrapped asparagus.
2. Chicken Philly Cheesesteak
Chicken Philly Cheesesteak is mouthwatering served as is with a nice big mixed green salad. You’ll be surprised how fast and easy this recipe comes together. It also goes wonderfully over spaghetti squash.
3. Cheesy Ranch Chicken and Broccoli
Cheesy Ranch Chicken & Broccoli is one of my most popular recipes. Even my kids request this, even though they aren’t huge fans of Keto cooking. The decadent cheese sauce flavored with ranch and bacon is over the top delicious. This is definitely one that pairs well with a Whole Roasted Cauliflower. You can also serve it with any greens on the side to help balance out the dish’s richness.
4. Cheesy Mexican Chicken Skillet
This Cheesy Mexican Chicken Skillet is one of the very few recipes that I love with cauliflower. I normally dislike it since it’s kind of “blah.” However, you won’t even know it’s there when you add taco seasoning and lots of cheese. I mean, when you add cheese to anything, how could it be bad? Even my two-year-old said it tasted like Taco Bell, which is a big compliment from her!
5. Keto BBQ Baked Chicken Thighs
These Keto Baked Chicken Thighs are a simple, healthy, and delicious keto dinner idea. Seasoned well and smothered in a delicious keto BBQ sauce, your family will be licking their fingers! You will have to make your own BBQ sauce with keto sweetener, but I promise that the result is worth it.
This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a deliciously hearty keto meal that you will LOVE! Layers of shredded chicken, ham, Swiss cheese smothered in a creamy Dijon sauce, then topped with pork panko. Are you drooling yet? The result is a flavor-packed, low-carb dinner that the entire family will love!
This Keto Buffalo Chicken Casserole recipe is everything you love about those saucy buffalo chicken wings but CHEESIER (and a bit healthier)! I add riced cauliflower to the casserole, which is smothered in a creamy buffalo sauce and ranch dressing mixture that you’ll love for an easy weeknight dinner.
8. Quick and Easy Keto Chicken Enchilada Casserole
This keto chicken enchilada casserole is so simple and delicious! It’s the perfect low-carb twist on a Mexican favorite. This Mexican keto casserole is sure to make your weekly dinner rotations
This Keto Chicken & Cauliflower Rice Casserole is cheesy, creamy, and best of all, can be prepared using ONE skillet. Make it before and bake it off last minute for a quick, low-carb weeknight dinner that everyone will rave over!
This Lazy Keto Chicken Parmesan Casserole is delicious and super easy to make without sacrificing flavor. This family-friendly and kid-approved easy keto recipe is perfect for a low-carb diet.
